- Coats for Kids- We collect and buy winter coats for kids in need and the distribute them to the community.
- Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest- Open to 8th through 12th graders. In 500-750 words, what are the two most important virtues for an elected leader to possess and why? How can you determine if the leader has these virtues?
- Free throw Competition- A really fun program. Kids take 10 free throw shots and try to make as many as they can. The winners in their age group move on from the council level to the district. Winners from the district move to regional then state.
- Holy Hour-We spend at least an hour adoring Jesus multiple times throughout the year.
- RSVP- We sponsored a seminarian by the name of Luca LaNasa. The council donated $500 dollars to his education as well as help with any other needs he may have. The RSVP program allows us to help seminarians with a financial donation but it also connects us with our sponsored seminarians to provide support from the start of the seminary and the rest of his life as a priest.
- Building the domestic church kiosk– these kiosks are located in the back of St. Mary of the Angels Basilica and by the front door of St. John’s. The booklets are free and we encourage parishioners to take them and share them. The kiosks are kept stocked by the Council 338.
- Rosary- We will have rosary sessions throughout the year. Check back for updates.
- Sacramental gifts– We provide rosaries to those parishioners who are receiving their first communion and confirmation. We can provide a small bottle that you can keep holy water in when your baby is baptized. Please let us know in advance of baptisms and if you would like a bottle.
- Food for families– We donate throughout the year, monetary donations to the local food banks and volunteer hours.
- Family of the month/year– this program is new this year. We choose a family out of the parishes that go above and beyond for our parishes and community each month. Out of the 12 we choose one as family of the year. This nomination will go to the State Council, then Supreme. From there the family of the year can be chosen internationally and be recognized at the Supreme Convention every year.
- Family prayer night– This is the second year that we chose to put on a family prayer night. Last year it was in the Chapel but if we get more families to show up, we can move it into the church. We pray the rosary using one of the books from our kiosk and other prayers. It is a great evening event for the family.
- Keep Christ in Christmas poster contest– Kids create a poster that promotes the true spirit of Christmas.
- Helping hands– we offer our help to those in need in the community.
- Global wheelchair mission– We raise funds to purchase wheelchairs for those in need all over the world.
- ASAP- we raise money or items for local pregnancy centers. Our big fundraiser is our baby bottle drive.
- Novena for Life– We sponsor a novena that we put on our Facebook page and provide resources. We encourage all who are participating to say the Novena prayers each day at a time set so those online will be participating with those in person.
- March for life– Public support for the right to life as well as stand for life every month.
- Special Olympics- we raise money for the Special Olympics or donate to councils or chapters that are putting on events to raise money.
- Ultrasound– we raise money for the purchase of ultrasound machines.
- Christian refugee relief– helping save persecuted and at-risk Christians in the Middle East.
- Mass for people with special needs– This is a mass that we invite all those with special needs. We help with accommodations for those who attend.
